Product Designer

Rocket Companies Windsor, Ontario Full Time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with current design tools, including Sketch, Creative Suite and InVision, as well as good old pen and paper to define your work at both low and high fidelity
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end iterative product design process, including how to develop and use wireframing, prototyping, user testing and high-fidelity visuals
  • Product design and UI/UX abilities shown in a portfolio of live projects
  • 3 years of experience collaborating with multiple disciplines, such as product, engineering and data analysts
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience

Job Summary

The Product Designer makes the complex simple and knows the details aren’t the details – they are the product. They believe the best interactions aren’t even noticed by a user because the design gets out of their way. We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to own the forging of tools and experiences that make people feel confident when going through the mortgage process. We are a friendly, collaborative team with a passion for getting our hands dirty. We care about the right solution above everything else.

Responsibilities

  • Ship designs of new features and quickly prototype solutions to visual and interaction problems
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer problems to create elegant but practical solutions
  • Represent our users and bring empathy to our product strategy and road map discussions
  • Advocate for good user experience across our teams and platform
  • Take the initiative in identifying problems and opportunities to improve the product
  • Contribute to our growing design system to cultivate a coherent look and feel across the entire platform
  • Collaborate iteratively to work through ideas/solutions quickly
  • Work in a collaborative way where the expectations for every single person are high
