Position Summary

We are hiring an OHIP Billing Accounting Clerk for the Homewood Health Centre and are looking for you. You're a great fit if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are passionate about innovation, foster collaboration, and are committed to service excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Closely follow the Ministry of Health's Schedule of Benefits to ensure billing accuracy
• Follow-up with medical staff as required
• Data entry of medical billings for Ministry submission
• Create claim submission files and submit to the MOHLTC via EDT on a monthly basis.
• Reconciling billing issues (health card rejections, billing errors, etc.)
• Processing remittance advices and reconciling against claims on a monthly basis
• Preparation of month-end journal entries and reports
• Create and maintain standard monthly and annual templates and reports
• Cross training and coverage of other Accounting Clerk team members

What we're looking for

• Completion of post-secondary school in Business Administration, Accounting or Medical Office Administration an asset
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in medical office administration or related field
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnosis codes, and OHIP billing
• Exceptional organizational & time management skills
• Knowledge and skills related to privacy, confidentiality & security of information
• Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
• Excellent computer proficiency including intermediate level skills in Excel
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience working in Healthcare and with AS400 systems and financial software such as Infinium is an advantage
• Experience with specialized software including Caseworks and CIS an advantage
