What will our new Pre-Sales Solution Engineer do? 

Reporting into the Head of Sales, the Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer at iTMethods will work in a high-performance team environment to drive business development and sales growth. This is both a hands-on technical role and a customer-facing relationship building role. You will be a DevOps expert, working in close collaboration with the Sales team to nurture strategic client relationships in large Financial Services, Software and Internet, Media and  Entertainment, and other industry verticals. You will provide technical expertise around the iTMethods Platform and DevOps tools, applying your insights as a systems builder to present solutions that solve complex problems.

Your day-to-day will look something like this:

  • Manage and execute pre-sales activities. You will lead pre-sales engineering activities, including technical discovery and scoping, technical value proposition, architectural diagrams and guidance, SOW creation, pricing estimates, and sales support. 
  • Deliver. You will design outstanding technical presentations and platform demonstrations
  • Communicate and collaborate. You will foster strong business relationships with internal teams and clients (pre and post-sales) by instilling trust and confidence. You will:
    • Work independently as a vital member of a sales team to create and deliver outstanding technical presentations and platform demonstrations, sharing DevOps expertise.
    • Partner with the sales team to strategize on sales approaches to develop business
    • Provide knowledge transfer to the delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover from sales to delivery.
    • Contribute to the development of sales/marketing material.
  • Learn. You will establish a deep understanding of the overall iTMethods technology platform and the competitive landscape, keeping up-to-date on relevant changes and developments in DevOps and cloud computing.

What you bring to iTMethods:

  • Education and experience. You have a degree in Engineering or a related field and  5+ years in Technical Pre-Sales. Sales Engineering, or equivalent experience. You have hands-on expertise in:
    • Solution and Integration Design.
    • Project delivery, infrastructure delivery, and application delivery and associated life cycles.
    • Systems engineering/administration or software engineering (an asset).
  • Technical skills. You understand concepts and technologies in DevOps, networking, IT operations, security, cloud, services, microservices, and containerization. You have experience with Amazon Web Services and DevOps tools such as  Jira, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, Artifactory, SonarQube, and others.
  • Great communication skills. You have exceptional listening, presentation, demonstration, written, and oral communication abilities. You can create presentations, SOWs, and other relevant pieces of documentation. 
  • The knowledge and the passion. You bring a combination of hands-on expertise and people-facing skills and you want to play a critical role building solutions that solve customer problems, and making an impact on our growth. You understand the technical challenges of systems building and can bring your insights to the role, explaining your choices and influencing decisions. You can explain highly complex technical concepts to decision-making executives.
