Agilus is currently recruiting a a Greenhouse Technician on behalf of our client located in the south area of the city. Idealapplicants can be secondary students or any professional that meet therequirements. Excellent opportunity to work full-time during the summerseason! 


•            Assist with daily activities which may include: seeding, transplanting, crossing, harvesting, threshing, of plants and cleaning and organization of materials and facility.

•            Manage all watering and plant/growth room maintenance.

•            Filling pots and flats, washing of lab coats, pots, stake, cleaning growth rooms and facility.

•            Identify and report the need to control pests or diseases in growth rooms.

•            Notify Operational supervisor(s) when issues arise with facility or plants.

•            Assist with data collection and maintenance.

•            Comply with  Safety standards, and participate in required/designated safety programs.

•            Comply with Quality Management System (QMS) and Compliance standards, and participate in required/designated QMS programs.

Agilus seeks an incumbent who possess the following:

•            Degree or diploma in agricultural/biological science or related field or equivalent

•            Ability to manage physical nature of watering, plant care, growth room maintenance

•            Willingness to work in varied weather conditions (cool or hot)

•            Willingness to work on repetitive tasks

•            Possess strong ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail

•            Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize daily tasks

•            Highly motivated, results oriented, with the ability to work with people individually or in a team to gain commitment to achieve results 

•            Learning agility and ability to learn new procedures

•            Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise and actionable manner

•            Strong computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Sharepoint

•            Ability to lift up to 30 lbs


•            Previous experience in Canola and/or plant breeding

•            Experience in crop production or growth room/greenhouse production methodologies

•            Hybrid research experience

•            Ability to obtain pesticide applicator license


•            20-40hours per week

•            During the pandemic, work 10 hours /day on M/W/F (or T/Th/Sa/Su) shift in facility, may be required to work from home up to 5 hours/day on certain days or as otherwise assigned.

•            Able to work overtime during week and weekends when required.
