With offices across the country, Sunbelt Film & TV services productions of all sizes from coast to coast and houses an extensive state-of-the-art inventory.
Our job is to help bring the magic of storytelling to life, by supporting our clients as their go-to Partners in Production.To better serve the production industry's growing ambitions, our Burnaby team is looking for the perfect candidate to join us as a Film Equipment Technician.
This is a full-time, permanent position located in Burnaby, BC and the general hours of work Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm).
This position reports to the Branch Manager.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot triaged equipment problems related to lighting, grip, power and location equipment to determine the source of the issue and take corrective action to repair the problemProcess equipment in a safe and efficient manner to meet manufacturer's specificationsPerform required repairs to warehouse gear and associated accessories including but not limited to stands, grip gear, distribution and location equipment suppliesAssess active equipment inventory levels and work with the Branch Manager and Shop Supervisor to assess the needs and priorities of all warehouse maintenanceAdvise management of equipment defects, damage and / or any customer concerns arising from equipment issues or countsPull orders, load and unload trucks, as required by Shop Supervisor and / or Branch ManagerEnsure parts / maintenance inventory are accurately accounted forOther duties as required from time to timeThe Ideal CandidatePrevious experience with film equipment repairsMechanical knowledge and experienceAbility to learn and work with film-specific rental & parts inventory software programDemonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a teamElectrical knowledge and experience an assetElectronics experience an assetFurther training will be provided to the accepted candidateWe Support our Team before anything else - join us and you will:Enjoy competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits programPaid sick days & vacation; short- & long-term disability coverageGroup RRSP plan; company-wide profit-sharing programTuition & fitness reimbursement; steel toed shoes / boots allowanceDevelop new skills that will apply to the film & tv industryWe promote from within; you can explore your career to level up and get prepared for various rolesWork with an incredible team of people in a safety-driven cultureWe act with integrity and follow through on our commitments with high level of engagementWe strive to build a safe, healthy, inclusive, and sustainable communityThe physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
