POSITION SUMMARY
As a key member of our Publications Team, you will provide project coordination, leadership and guidance to the PLM Team who is responsible for ensuring all product lifecycle management projects meet established timeframes and objectives. The Publications team has several exciting projects that will bring us to the next level in automation and ensure we remain the industry leaders in technical publishing.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Maintain PLM strategy by providing viable solutions and successfully implementing them into our publishing team's every day processes.
  • Plan, monitor and track team progress to ensure key milestones of all key projects are completed.
  • Perform in-depth problem analysis and develop solutions/recommendations for publications related issues.
  • Evaluate PLM staff performance by creating annual performance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain proper documentation for all projects including plans, workflows, new processes and specifications.
  • Liaise with other departments such as the PLM team in IT to ensure publications requirements and/or issues are communicated and met.
  • Coordinate appropriate testing and evaluation of the newly developed or existing publishing tools.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post-secondary education in Technical Communications and/or Project Management related programs, or a combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Five years or more project management experience in a technical publishing environment related to essential functions listed above
  • Proven experience developing a single source publishing strategy using XML technologies and application
  • Excellent knowledge of technical document lifecycle strategies
  • Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter and Oracle BOM, or other database applications is an asset
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed-oriented with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, effectively prioritize and work efficiently in a high demanding fast-paced team oriented environment
