Classification: Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Compensation: $130000.00 to $140000.00 yearly
Our client in Toronto is looking to add a senior manager for their accounting team. The successful candidate would be reporting to the Corporate Controller. The would be responsible for the overall operations of the accounting teams.
The ideal candidate would be providing direction and oversight for the controls function within the business. This role would ensures compliance with established and acceptable accounting practices.
Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate would be responsible for the financial controls and procedures. Ensuring proper procedures and policies for accounting, financial and taxes are in place within the business.
- They would also be responsible for auditing internal controls to ensure compliance with all finance and accounting procedures.
- Oversee financial reports generated from accounting teams to ensure accuracy with business’s current and projected financial position.
- Provide oversight for all treasury functions for the business, specifically managing the banking relationship and ensuring appropriate controls
- Coordinate month end and year end procedures, including the preparation of schedules.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors during operational and financial audits
- The successful candidate must be at a management level financial executive with a minimum of 7-10 years experience.
- Must be able to explain accounting and financial concepts to nonfinancial managers.
- Minimum of 3-5 years prior experience in a major accounting / auditing firm.
