Who we need

Working in partnership with the SVP, Technology, our client has a newly created opportunity for a Director, Software Development with the technical expertise to spearhead the roadmap and oversee the team building out the UI architecture for an enhanced cloud platform. You will take ownership of establishing and maintaining processes, as well as relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, balancing needs and requirements, generating consensus, and working through ambiguity. It’s an exciting opportunity to make an impact on customer satisfaction and have your voice heard as you drive the strategy for a brand new next-generation product leveraging new technologies from Microsoft as well as Blazer, Maui.

What you will do:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a 10+ member cross-functional Agile development team.
  • Promote a highly collaborative and efficient Agile culture, partnering across teams to align priorities with business objectives.
  • Map out requirements and specifications with internal clients requesting new feature developments and deliver ongoing enhancements to the user experience; drive ongoing refactoring efforts such as accessibility remediation and migration to the latest UI frameworks such as React.
  • Oversee the team and the tasks to ensure the UI architecture components are developed in a high-quality way. 
  • Implement UI/UX best practices that maximize quality, maintainability, and scalability of code.

Who you are:

An executive and team collaborator, you can seamlessly elicit needs and balance against requirements, confidently building trust and strong relationships within teams, with peers, clients, and senior leadership. You can inspire and motivate teams with your hands-on technical expertise, your coaching skills, and your willingness to roll up your sleeves to help solve challenging problems in a fast-paced environment. You have:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a software development environment including hands-on exposure leading Agile software development teams
  • A proven track record of building cloud-based, enterprise products, and a deep understanding of multi-tenant cloud web applications and in-depth knowledge of delivery best practices across all facets of the software development life cycle.
  • Experience using front-end web technologies (HTML5, modern JavaScript libraries such as React, Dojo, Angular, Backbone). 
  • A drive to exceed customer expectations through continuous deployment, innovation and improvements. 
  • Experience planning activities with complex dependencies within and across teams.
