You could take responsibility for an accounting and clerical department at a successful company, through Robert Half Finance's new Finance Manager opportunity. The full-time Finance Manager position is situated in the Kelowna, British Columbia or could be based in the Vancouver area. Responsibilities include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This role's duties will require effectively managing self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, leading while also being a team player, generating innovative ideas, and challenging the status quo. What you get to do every single day

- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

- Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

- Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

- Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations

- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
- CPA required

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- Full Cycle Accounting experience desired

- SaaS Environment experience

- Financial statement preparation experience highly desired

- Tech Company experience

- Proven knowledge of management

- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

- Previous experience managing distributed teams is required

- Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
