A successful Construction Company is working with Robert Half Finance to find a Manager of Accounting. Candidates who can lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable. You will succeed in this position if you have the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting, finance, and analytical skills; experience in managing staff including training and evaluations; and possess strong customer service skills.

What you get to do every single day

  • Responsibilities may include completing daily audit deliverables, creating month end revenue and tax journal entries, completing statistics, account reconciliations and tax returns
  • Prepare and execute deposits, wires, chargebacks and checks
  • Review and balance bank statements
  • Research and prepare assigned balance sheet accounts, including making journal entries, assisting in the month end close process and uploading journal entries
  • Maintain prepaid schedules, including appropriate monthly journal entry
  • Prepare and maintain various reports and schedules
  • Completes assigned audits on a timely basis, including understanding of systems as they relate to the various audits
  • Assists Controller and Analyst in problem solving and gives recommendations on process improvement
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
  • 5+ years of financial experience
  • Organized and detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet assigned deadlines as required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Canadian Professional Accounting Designation required (CA,CPA,CGA, CMA)
