PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Manager Business Transformation Services for the Innovation and Transformation team, you will be responsible for enabling Business Transformation Specialists and Analysts to effectively deliver programs that achieve CP’s roadmap objectives. The position will assume lead roles on key strategic projects.

 POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support governance design and ensure best practices are followed;
  • Provide second line of support to the business on more advanced business process and technical issues;
  • Monitor and communicate progress of project and sustainment activities, and conduct audits to ensure projects/initiatives are being successfully sustained;
  • Lead cross training of knowledge within team and further upskill Analysts and Specialists through development plans;
  • Provide a bridge between business and IT for requirements for future programs and enhancements;
  • Guide the team in tactical or strategic issue management and issue resolution within process and functional areas;
  • Oversee and ensure audit and control requirements are consistently executed to ensure reliable and timely system performance, and support enhancements to audits and controls;
  • Demonstrate and apply CP’s Consequence Leadership and associated competencies.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Business, Economics, Agriculture Economics, Computer Science or equivalent working experience;
  • 1 or more years’ experience in Business Transformation;
  • 3 or more years’ of leadership experience;
  • Extensive knowledge of work procedures and computer systems used at CP;
  • Demonstrated above average ability to apply knowledge of rail operations work procedures and computer systems to solve immediate problems impacting delivery of services;
  • Enhanced business IQ and ability to articulate the value of different strategies and programs;
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in business computing and analysis;
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and project management skills;
  • Understanding of data science and statistical methods;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Senior Leadership levels in the organization;
  • Highly effective communicator, confident, passionate, clear, respectfully assertive and inspiring;
  • Displays emotional intelligence; demonstrates self-awareness and remains calm under pressure; expresses confidences in ability to succeed; keeps an optimistic attitude even when things are not going well;
  • Builds effective relationships.

Management Conductor Program:

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CP. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
