The opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Platform Services, we are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our team. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in developing and deploying custom DevOps toolchains onto the Platform enabling our enterprise customers to innovate and accelerate on the cloud. It’s a chance to apply your leadership, knowledge and collaboration skills as you build and automate cloud infrastructure hosting DevOps tools using AWS services. 

What you will do

• You will deliver medium-to-high complexity AWS-based workloads from initial architecture and design through migration / development, test, and deployment.
• You will deliver Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation for full automation and operational support of new or existing customer environments.
• You will write and run services on Kubernetes clusters.
• As a key collaborator, you will provide input and support to the leadership team on existing and future product roadmaps.
• As a key collaborator you will drive continuous improvement with various teams on the development and evolution of technical and architectural roadmaps.
• You will design and document data structures, architecture, and process flows for AWS-based workloads.
• You will provide mentorship and training to other team members on technologies and processes; drive education and knowledge transfer of design patterns, technical best practices, and relevant technologies and tools.
• You will perform evaluations of new technologies and third-party solutions and drive recommendation for some build versus buy decisions.
• You will build reusable collateral, software automation and operations processes to enable productization strategies.
• You will perform QA on Engineering collaterals delivered.
• You will provide technical expertise for Secure by Design / Compliance-related deployments.
• You will design, coordinate, and troubleshoot integrations.
• You will apply and expand your technical expertise including professional certification in AWS, Atlassian, and Jenkins.
• You will perform Level 2 Production Support to Managed Services team on a rotation basis.

What you bring to the role

• You have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering.
• You have hands-on knowledge and preferably a certification in at least a subset of the following: AWS, Azure, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Database Technologies like Postgres and MySQL, Networking and Atlassian.
• You have exceptional communication and problem solving skills.
• You are driven, collaborative and motivated. You thrive on developing solutions to open-ended business problems.
• You have the ability to write code.
• You have a passion for automation and efficiency and DevOps.
• You have a proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
