Robert Half's client, a fast growing construction company is looking for a french speaking Bilingual Accountant to be a key member in the company’s expansion. You will be responsible for their accounting operations including full cycle payroll. The successful candidate will be bilingual having excellent written and verbal communication in both English and French. In addition, having demonstrated ability in overseeing cash flow, assisting the controller with financial statement preparations, full cycle A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, journal entries, GL entries and month-end close. This is a great opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant to move into a Senior Accountant role. Someone who is looking for their next career challenge taking on a key role in a growing company. This full-time employment opportunity is based in the Etobicoke, Ontario area.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborating closely and provide support to the Corporate Controller
* Responsible for full cycle accounting for several companies (A/P, Billing, A/R, Financial Reporting)
* Performing monthly bank reconciliations
* Responsible for maintenance and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
* Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation and amortization in accordance with company policies
* Process vendor invoices and ensure any credits, outstanding payments or account discrepancies are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner
* Prepare payments to third parties via cheque, EFT, credit and/or other forms of payment
* Reconcile cash receipts to billings and investigate any variances
* Complete monthly P&L variance analysis
* Assist with the yearly budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
* Assist with the monitoring of key business performance metrics on a weekly and monthly basis
* Assist with the preparation of cash flow forecasts on a weekly basis
* Processing payroll using Ceridian Dayforce.
* Respond to inquiries from members of the senior management team and other internal and external stakeholders
* Prepare other ad hoc analysis and reports on financial matters as required
* Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
* Accounting Designation (CPA, CGA, CMA) considered an asset
* Experience with full cycle accounting, including A/P, A/R, Billings, Payroll, Financial Reporting, etc.
* Experience with Simply Accounting and/or similar accounting platform
* Prior experience with the Ceridian Dayforce platform would be considered an asset
* High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Word and Excel
* Team player with excellent bilingual communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
