As a key member of our Publications Team, you will provide desktop publishing services to support the preparation of technical manuals and any other publications as required.

  • Perform typesetting or publishing duties such as creating and revising manual page layout files in Adobe Framemaker and output to PDF for print and electronic delivery.
  • Organize assignments in accordance to priorities set by the Coordinator and established in the project schedule to ensure your tasks are complete to meet all deadlines.
  • Apply proper publishing/typesetting rules and practices as per department specifications.
  • Perform paper output, manual assembly and packaging for shipment of all manual or other document types for the customer.
  • Prepare the necessary shipping and customer notification documentation, perform tracking to ensure proper and timely delivery to customer and Proof of Delivery (POD) for our records.
  • Arrange for the shipping of manual sets by contacting and working with warehouse shipping or other courier services.
  • Perform the publishing of our TIV (compiled, linked, indexed manuals) when required and as directed by Coordinator.
  • Perform quality control checks, report product deficiencies identified and assist in providing solutions to Coordinator.

  • Post-secondary education in relations to Desktop Publishing or equivalent experience
  • Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing publishing environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and specialized publishing software including Adobe Framemaker and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent typesetting/desktop publishing skills
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Possess excellent organizational and file management skills
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team oriented environment
