Job Description

We will be looking to hire a 'Junior' Network Administrator to support a long term engineering project lead by ADGA. This opening will be at the junior level. 

Our senior level resources on this contract must perform all tasks below, an intermediate level resource must perform at least 75%, and a junior level resource must perform at least 50%

Tasks will include:

  • Administer one or more computer networks that employ a broad variety of hardware, software, applications, operating systems and environments.
  • Manage the configuration of the network(s)
  • Monitor and manage network performance and availability, including but not limited to troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Maintain network hygiene.
  • Monitor and manage network security, including but not limited to firewalls, access control lists, anti-virus tools and intrusion detection systems.
  • Install, configure, patch and upgrade processing, storage, networking, end-user and peripheral equipment, including but not limited to virtualization technologies.
  • Install, configure, patch and upgrade network software, including but not limited to enterprise anti-virus or diagnostic programs.
  • Install, configure, patch and upgrade server-side core software, including but not limited to Windows Server, SQL Server, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Implement and maintain backup and restoration systems for mission-critical network servers.
  • Regulate user access to devices, services and files.
  • Provide end-user support.
  • Perform any other work related to this category.
Qualifications

  • 2 year College Diploma in networking, software, computer, systems, electrically or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support C4ISR. 
  • Must have at least 1 year experience within the last 6 years:
    • In the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information Management or Engineering.
  • Must have a minimum of 12 months (1 year) experience with at least 6 of the following tasks:
    • Planning, installing, managing and implementing network architectures.
    • Windows 2003 Server or higher system administration.
    • Managing TCP/IP, Network file system and name servers.
    • Microsoft Exchange Server administration.
    • SQL Server administration.
    • SMS Server administration.
    • Preparing and implementing network policies and procedures.
    • Managing network personnel and networking security.
    • Managing internet services (i.e. web servers, FTP servers etc.)
    • Gateway, bridge and router management.
    • Management and security of systems connected to the internet.

Additional Information

  • Contract length potential - 5 years with the potential for a multi-year extension. 
  • Must hold a valid 'Secret' clearance to start (will process for candidates that are being strongly considered) and will need the Controlled Goods Certificate at point of hire. 
  • Full grids/matrices will be provided on individual basis.
