POSITION SUMMARYAs a key member of our Publications Team, you will create 2D isometric and perspective technical illustrations from available 3D models for incorporation into the Parts and Service Manuals, Operation Guides and other company documents as required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Plan, organize and complete illustration tasks in accordance to project priorities set by the Project Coordinator.
- Lay out and draw 2D schematic, perspective, orthographic, or isometric illustrations to depict function, relationship, and assembly-sequence of parts using specialized software and established illustrating standards.
- Understand and interpret specifications, vendor technical documents, engineering 3D models and mechanical/electrical drawings and sketches.
- Create 3D model assembly illustrations as required for technical manuals.
- Perform quality control checks as per established procedures.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of experience in a Technical Illustrator role
- Working knowledge of specialized 2D illustration software including Corel Designer, SAP VEA/RH, Corel Draw or similar vector-based software
- Excellent 3D illustrating and modeling skills using tools such as Siemens NX or Solidworks
- Possess a strong technical background in vehicle or other heavy-duty equipment and have a good understanding of engineering drawings and standard practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and possess initiative to seek improvements
- Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team oriented environment
