Basic Functions

  • Respect Amcor Rigid Plastics primary focus that is to ensure the “Safety” of the employees.
     
  • Must follow Amcor’s policies and procedures to ensure good manufacturing practices are maintained as per company’s standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  1. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABLILTIES:
     
  1. To observe all safety rules/regulations and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner. Adheres to all safety guidelines. Must take an active role in promoting a safe work place. Performs duties safely with minimal supervision. Actively participate in all safety programs including, Energy Isolation and 5S.
  2. Receives instructions from the production scheduler regarding what bottles are to be produced and what machines are involved.
  3. Prioritize daily and weekly work to ensure efficiency and successfully meet customer demands.
  4. Build print screens in advance based on production schedule.
  5. Prepare inks and labels for production.
  6. Complete hands-on job/machine changeovers as per production schedule, using lean techniques.
  7. Set up, optimize and produce Decorated (silk screening and PS labelled) bottles on machines as per production requirements, quality standards and efficiency targets.
  8. Maintains/updates Job Set-up Sheets regarding tooling, moulds, parts, etc.
  9. Troubleshoot and Replace parts using procedures/precautions as required.
  10. Checks for safety switched and guards as well as clearances, loose wires, etc. before starting machine(s).
  11. Checks bottles for quality and refers to Standard Operating Conditions as the guide, contacting Q.A as required.
  12. After troubleshooting, adjust machines as required until quality and efficiency are achieved.
  13. Assists with problem solving.
  14. Performs other related tasks, as required.

  1. SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
     
  1. Keeps assigned work area clean, neat, organized and free from safety hazards.
  2. All other duties and projects as assigned.


    Education, Experience and skills required

     
  1. REQUIRED
     
  1. Silk Screen / Printing / Decorating machine functionality and troubleshooting
  2. Hands on ability to operate (primary) Krones, Osmo Novax-M and other machine platforms
  3. Process fundamentals and optimization (lean manufacturing, mold change/SMED experience)
  4. Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written
  5. Ability to work within a fast paced system with multiple tasks and locations.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. Must be motivated and possess a high attention to detail.
  8. Must have the necessary skills to perform reading, writing and mathematics in English as required.
    B. PREFFERED
  9. Knowledge of Krones and Osmo Novax-M machines, Screen printing set-up, bottles and defects, procedures and standards of pertaining to the job.
  10. Experience building/exposing/preparing screens for silk screen process.
  11. Ability to read manuals and some engineering diagrams to aid in troubleshooting and repairs.

  • GMP Plant Training (Internal) – annual
  • Forklift certified based on job duties
     
     

The requirements and training are not limited to the above and could be modified depending on job assignment. Requirements may include other duties as assigned by management.

This is an hourly position that reports to the Shift Supervisor.

Schedule: 8 hours, 5 of 7 days of the week. Must be available for weekend shifts. Overtime and on-calls may also be required.
