Robert Half Finance has an open position at a stable company for a Financial Analyst. In this Financial Analyst position, you will be tasked with measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans and conducting financial modeling on a wide range of financial products. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating financial reports for management and advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives. In this role, you will serve as a key business partner in areas such as performance reporting, and expense management. This Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting world class strategic and financial planning methods, and assist in building long-range operating plans to support business imperatives and developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources every quarter are consumed at maximum effectiveness. You will also help with operationalizing and cultivating a more data-driven planning process and improved monthly and quarterly reporting. You will provide variance analysis of revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. The Financial Analyst role is a full-time employment opportunity in Elmira, Ontario.

Key responsibilities

- Keep tabs on monthly and quarterly performance through the comparison of actuals versus expectations, ensuring that business partners handle their resources

- Work closely with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close processes

- Enable successful reporting tools to deliver valuable foresight and decision support

- Work alongside senior executives on strategic deep dives to create financial reports and insights on topics such as: financial performance, trend analysis, return on investment of investments, resource allocation, and prioritization

- Survey performance to date and assess potential opportunities and risks

- Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

- Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

- This position requires a flexible individual who is adept at managing expectations and comfortable with handling large amounts of information

- Create and compile management and ad hoc reports

- Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
- Manufacturing industry experience

- Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable

- Microsoft Excel experience

- Month end closings experience highly desired

- Financial reporting experience required

- Deep understanding of Data Analysis

- Expertise in Report Creation

- CPA required

- 5+ years of experience in problem solving through analysis or with large data sets

- Skill with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required

- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

- Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently

- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience suggested

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
