Job Description
Are you passionate about safety and guest experience? Looking for a place to put your skills to play making guests safe and special? Hard Rock Casino Vancouver is looking for personable, energetic and passionate individuals for the position of full-time Security Officer. Under the supervision of the Security Manager, you will be responsible for protecting patrons, team members, and assets to ensure the integrity of the gaming floor and company property by patrolling and monitoring the entire casino site, interior and exterior, controlling access to keys and restricted areas; and other duties as assigned. This position requires shift schedule flexibility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet guests and control access to the Casino
- Monitor, document and report internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons or activities; prepares electronic statements via a non-gaming record keeping system
- Observe various transactions, slot drops, chip/hopper fills and transfers; escorts cash and cash equivalent movements; may assist in fills, credits, drops and key control
- Tag and report found property, transfers items to Lost and Found
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed
- Perform identification checks and escort guests or employees as required
- Respond to emergency situations as requested; while minimizing casino liabilities
- May perform electronic surveillance of non-gaming facilities, including exterior and adjacent properties at some locations
- Refer disputes to the Security Supervisor
- Enroll guests in the Self-Exclusion program
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, and other statutory regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication and public relations skills
- Second language an asset
- Previous experience or training in security an asset
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Exceptional organizational, problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities
- Good knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
- Certification in Occupational First Aid Level 2 and WHMIS an asset
- Completion of Gaming Security Officer training an asset
- High school diploma required, post secondary education an asset
- Provides a Great Experience and Memory to all guests, both external and internal

- The ability to successfully obtain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
