RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job description has been prepared as a guide to ensure better communication and understanding. Your Manager may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this description. Likewise, this description will be revised when required to meet current business needs.

  • Installing, repairing, and servicing electrical systems.
  • Sourcing or fabricating replacement electrical components.
  • Interpreting blueprints and drawing rough sketches when required.
  • Must be able to either perform the installation themselves or supervise the installation process.
  • Guiding and overseeing other apprentices or journeyman electricians.
  • Drawing up preventative maintenance measures.
  • Obtaining required permits, equipment, tools, and materials for projects.
  • Testing and troubleshooting systems.
  • Provide assistance during emergencies.
  • Updating project records and preparing relevant documents.
  • Liaising with clients, vendors, and other electricians.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or similar.
  • Must hold valid Master electrician's license.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Must have 5-10 years’ maintenance and electrical experience required in the manufacturing industry. 
  • Must be able to sign off on work completed as an Electrician (442a).
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Physical strength and stamina.
  • Problem Solving in Production & Continuous Improvement
  • Firm grasp of health and safety codes.
  • Patience when teaching apprentices.
  • Flexible and self-motivated with strong organizational, detail-oriented & multitasking.
  • Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously, as required
  • Coachable; Professional; Flexible schedule; Approachable; Quick learner; and Self-motivated.
  • Good working knowledge and ability to navigate a PC windows environment, including shared drives.
  • Good skills and experience using Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, & Excel).
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and willingness to continuously develop technology skills.

Demonstrates good and safe work habits and have a clean working environment.
