DNV - Energy Services seeks to employ a Pipeline Integrity Senior Principal Engineer to support our Calgary Alberta based Integrity Solutions and Compliance Department, within the Midstream/Downstream and Labs Service Area. This position will be located in our Calgary, Alberta office.

The Integrity Solutions and Compliance Section focuses on providing innovative products and services to the pipeline industry. We strive to be a diverse and inclusive group and have a strong commitment to the development of young professionals.

What You'll Do

  • Business development within existing services, projects and customers, as well as developing and responding to leads with new customers and services within the pipeline integrity industry.
  • Responsible for providing leadership to engineers as a mentor as well as technical direction and foresight for business/service opportunities.
  • Working effectively and efficiently within a group of approximately 45 engineers / consultants, and two ILI analyst / data verification specialists with leadership expectations and potentially a management role.
  • Compiling data received from pipeline operators and determining the appropriate methodologies and calculations to solve issue at hand.
  • Documenting analyses and processes and procedures in a technical format to clearly deliver results and the implications of those results to the pipeline operator.
  • Engage in a group of engineers and consultants, reviewing, and verifying each other's work.
  • Interact with other team members and clients in a manner that is professional and promotes collaboration
  • Writing of technical papers or presentations of innovative work or projects
  • Attending technical seminars to increase understanding of the pipeline industry and new technologies as well as to develop projects
  • Business development within existing services, projects and customers

Position Qualifications

What is Required – 

  • B.S. degree or higher in Material Science & Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field. 
  • Current P.Eng. License 
  • Minimum of 10 years of Pipeline Integrity related experience required (15+ years preferred)
  • Integrity management, FFS, Microsoft Excel and Word, technical writing, problem solving, critical thinking, scope development
  • Attention to detail, internally driven/motivated, hard working, soft social skills, professional presence, positive communicator
  • Ability to lead and work on a team effectively and efficiently, but also be able to show effectiveness when working individually
  • Ability to handle fast pace, high demand environments with strong stress management skills
  • Actively seeks opportunities to help team members with demanding project schedules and expectations
  • Experience/involvement with industry organizations related to pipeline integrity
  • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 25% of the time domestic and international
