Studio Engineer - Senior - PSP - SC4423

Abacus Service Corporation. Windsor, Ontario (Onsite) Full-Time

  • Description:Manage packaging criteria and bogey models to support feasible CDD (Conceptual Digital Data) surface development for interior Cockpit, Hard Trim, Soft Trim, Overhead Systems, Rear Compartment Trim & Seating. Support PDO (Product Design Office) clay properties (for theme development), mock-ups and spaciousness property builds, while coordinating with PDO fabrication and modeling departments. Provide milling/SLA data for rapid prototype part development. Chair weekly Interior commodity working level meetings, managing cross functional team requirements (ASME, AME, VI, HMI, Safety & BCIW). Complete Interior Commodity Construction Sections and manage approval process to support CDD Style Freeze release (Gap & Flush/build objectives), while challenging engineering requirements to achieve PDO esthetic. Verify CDD study/official releases meet VOP Hardpoints, packaging, tooling requirements and PDO theme. Present/support weekly PDO Interior Coordination meetings at CTC, ensuring Series Card POR content is aligned with PDO theme and is captured in program cost loops/Viz BOM's, when content misalignment occurs escalate to sr. management for decision. Conduct competitive benchmarking assessments, understanding future trends and technologies.
  • Requirements:

    Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or other degrees and educational credentials in combination with relevant engineering experience may be considered
    5+ years of relevant experience required.
    NX CAD designer that can perform the following:
    o NX TeamCenter / VIZ Pro
    o NX assembly knowledge (relocation of components in space)
    o Ability to develop 2D section proposals (achieving PDO theme)
    o 3D modeling to support PDO properties/mockups & Engineering counter proposals
    o Multi task (support several program simultaneously)
    o GD&T knowledge (challenging Best Practice clearance requirements)

    Preferred Requirements:
    A2MAC software knowledge

    Notes:
    Remote with some travel to US for meetings
