As a key member of our Publications Team and working under the direction of the department’s Manager your responsibility will be to research technical information from suppliers or the engineering department to create technical articles to build or revise Maintenance and Operators manuals for all MCI products.

  • Create and publishes technical articles in plain English describing the functionality, maintenance and operation of electrical or mechanical components used on MCI coach models.
  • Extract data from production bill of materials, supplier documentation, work instructions and engineering drawings. 
  • Integrates spare parts details from vendor publications to MCI manuals.
  • Build new manuals from current written documentation and support long-term sustainability of all MCI publications and maintenance/operators manual design, development and release. 
  • Implement revisions to existing manuals as per internal or external customer request. 
  • Participate on engineering product review and project meetings to get familiar with latest designs and technologies.
  • Contact suppliers to request maintenance and operating technical information.

  • Individuals with a combination of education and 5 year experience on technical writing related to automotive or similar industry are encourage to apply.
  • B.S. in English or Technical writing or Technologist in Engineering.
  • Technical Communication Diploma
  • Basic knowledge of QA & QC principles, Six Sigma, Oracle database, Unigraphics or similar CAD program will be added advantages.
  • Excellent computer knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker®.Experience with Adobe Photoshop®, Adobe Illustrator® and Microsoft Office Package.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills. 
  • Self-starter with attention to detail and sense of urgency in completing assignments on time and with limited supervision. 
  • Strong inter-personal skills to develop relationships with stakeholders. 
  • Familiar with Automotive metal manufacturing, composites materials and electrical parts. 
  • Excellent command of written English language
