Job Description

Be part of our 'Server Build' team currently working on this well-established, long term government contract! Within this position, you will have the opportunity to build, maintain and troubleshoot servers for our client. 

Task will include:

  • Conduct network management tasks primarily on system servers.
  • Follow and create connectivity diagrams for servers and networks.
  • Apply a good level of knowledge of:
    • Networking in general.
    • Active Directory management (domain controller)
    • Microsoft SCCM for server/client builds and updates.
    • Windows OS (Server 2012, 2019, Win10, Win7)
    • Troubleshooting skills.
    • Implementing technical instructions.
    • Command Prompt functions (i.e., ipconfig/all)
  • Follow detailed documents to build, maintain, and troubleshoot other windows-based servers (i.e., Openfire, McAfee, DPM etc.)
  • Configure routers (Putty) and switches (Cisco and Dell switches)
  • Apply basic knowledge of Linux language and servers (CMS, CUCM, VCSA)
  • Use MS Office products such as Word, Excel, and Visio.

Qualifications

  • A valid 'secret level' clearance (level 2) with the Federal Government.
  • Windows server experience
  • Must have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (or equivalent as determined by the Technical Authority) OR a College Diploma in Engineering or Computer Technology (or equivalent as determined by the Technical Authority) 
  • Must be able to demonstrate the following experience:
    • A minimum of 2 years experience working as a Network Administrator or Network Technician.
    • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience with at least 6 of the following activities below:
      • Windows 2003 and/or Windows 2008 Server system administration.
      • Investigating and correcting system faults. 
      • Generating tape media (back-ups)
      • Computer System Configuration control.
      • Using safety and security software.
      • Network performance monitoring.
      • Software installation and configuration.
      • Hardware configuration, installation and maintenance.
      • Conducting hardware and software minor repairs.

Additional Information

  • You could be  required to travel, deliver, test and train when delivering servers to the Canadian Army. Must be available to travel as needed.
