On behalf of our client in the Public Utility  Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Progect Manager

Agile Project Manager - Job Description

  • Collaborate with direct reports, LoB, and other stakeholders to ensure all initiatives in the Pods including project and sustainment activities are successfully delivered are aligned with business strategies and requirements in the best interest of the client  .
  • Work closely with various Client stakeholders for the annual budget and delivery planning activities including development of the investment plan, business plan, budget, and business case approvals; and planning activities focused on the integration of system and technology plans with the goals, objectives, budgets, and strategies of various LoBs.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to create consensus on and documentation of requirements which will be translated into business applications.
  • Support planning of initiative releases and objectives of technology-enabled business solutions and services for the supporting Line of Business (LoB) to achieve business outcomes.
  • Manage the working backlog by ordering the backlog items and working with the supporting LoB and other stakeholders to prioritize the backlog items, so they are consumable by the Senior Application Development Specialist and Application Development Specialist.
  • Balance and manage team’s development and sustainment efforts to produce code at a sustainable pace including providing guidance and checking the work to maintain quality, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Define criteria to test whether an item is complete and verify criteria are met before acceptance.
    Manage the return on investment (ROI) of all Pod initiatives by making the necessary trade-offs and supported by the Agile Business Analyst to calculate return on the client  investment(s) for ongoing and planned projects.
  • Work with ISD stakeholders to prioritize Pod resources and manage capacity needs between project and sustainment work items including planning, scheduling, and assigning work.
    - Lead and coordinate the review and evaluation of proposals; and negotiate contracts and contract changes with external stakeholders based on requirements such as scope, scheduling, and resourcing to meet project objectives.
  • Act as a Change Agent by adopting a truly Agile mindset, including ownership, self-management, and empowerment; and promoting the application and advancement of Agile methodologies, practices, and principles throughout all activities within their Pod to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Managerial Accountabilities: Manage, motivate, and cultivate a collaborative environment for direct reports, other staff, and contractors to deliver high-quality technology-enabled solutions and services within budget (budget under management is unknown) and schedule.
  • Translate and communicate Client Strategies and direction to direct reports and other staff, contractors, and vendors to align project objectives in achieving goals within the Strategy.
  • Negotiate and influence behaviour of vendors and service providers to achieve desired results.
  • Be accountable for the output of direct reports (e.g., set expectations, priorities, and context; ensure compliance with required legal and regulatory requirements and Client and business unit policies and procedures; conduct performance reviews and provide direction on problem areas; support career development; provide effective recommendations to Supervisor concerning promotions, transfers, pay, disciplinary action of staff within the department per collective agreements, etc.).
  • Resolve technical, business and personnel issues; and escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner to Supervisors.
