Compensation: $65000.00 to $70000.00 yearly
Our client in Waterloo is currently recruiting for a System Administrator to join their growing IT department. The System Administrator will:
- Defines, designs, implements, tests and maintains high quality services for virtualization, server, SANs, VMware, cloud (Azure/M365), mobility, firewalls, network switches and routers, e-mail gateways, web filtering, telephony, desktop and other technology to provide a highly available, reliable and safe enterprise computing environment, using industry best practices.
- Establishes performance and quality standards; monitors the enterprise technology services (internal and external) for optimal quality, performance, service level agreements, as well as, efficiencies and maintains a high level of system availability. Develops strategies to assess, implement and test improvements including patch updates. Executes on strategies.
- Oversees fluid and dependable operations and system back up for all technology services, including disaster recovery and related, and maintaining up to date documentation.
- In a consulting manner, conducts investigation, troubleshooting and analyzing, and presents recommendations related to all enterprise technology services, with technology experts (internal and external) and business partners, including cost analysis, requesting and assessing quotes, and procurement of services and equipment. Takes technical ownership for initiatives.
Our client in Waterloo is currently recruiting for a System Administrator to join their growing IT department.
1.University degree or college diploma in computer science or related subject.
2.Five to seven years’ experience in the administration and support of enterprise infrastructure, with server and storage systems experience with a Microsoft focus, including VMWare.
3.Experience with cloud services (Azure or AWS based) and SaaS and IaaS offerings.
4.Desired certifications: MCSE designation; ITIL foundations; VMWare or equivalent work experience.
5.In depth knowledge of Internet Information Services in a high availability environment.
6.Experience with platforms including Windows, SQL Server and other server system products.
7.An expert level of experience with Windows Server infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, IIS, Active Directory and Exchange and all related services and functions including TCP/IP, Windows clustering, DNS and DHCP. Experience with Azure AD in a hybrid environment considered an asset.
8.Recent extensive experience with server, storage, networking hardware troubleshooting and administration.
9.Experience with managing telephony services, including PBX, SIP, PRI, VOIP, ACD, UCaaS, CCaaS, unified messaging technologies. Experience with EngHouse UCB considered an asset.
10.Experience with ITIL implementations; specifically with Service Catalogue.
11.Ability to work simultaneously on a large number of initiatives and tasks in a highly dynamic and evolving environment.
