Job Description

We are currently looking for a junior 'Project Lead/Project Manager' to join our team working on a large federal government contract in Gatineau!

Do you have 5 years of demonstrated system/software experience as a Project Manager, experience preparing and presenting technical and management documents, experience applying your PM knowledge using PMBOK principles, and hold a valid Secret clearance? 

Tasks will include:

  • Prepare task estimates in response to DND provided SOWs (Statements of Work - which would include estimated time and cost, as well as recommend resource assignments)
  • Plan, analyze and schedule Project Team tasks.
  • Ensure that all Project Team personnel adhere to all defined LSEC Quality Practices and procedures, as identified in the LSEC Quality Quality System.
  • Provide Status Reports and briefings when required.
  • Control and account for DND-owned material resources being used by the Project Team.
  • Responsible for the projects (contract management and quality assurance)
  • Liaise with the Test Manager (or Test Lead) on testing requirements.
  • Conduct task-related budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, timesheet approvals, invoice reconciliation, and SOW amendments as necessary.
  • Interview, hire, provide employee performance feedback and perform associated managerial administrative tasks.
  • Maintain and manage project risks, action items and requests for info. 
  • Any other task as directed by the Program Manager
  • Assist the Senior Project Leader as needed. 


  • For this upcoming role, you must be able to fully demonstrate the following:
    • College Diploma in Engineering or Computer Technology or equivalent
    • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience
      • preparing and presenting technical and management documents.
      • demonstrated system/software experience as a Project Manager.
    • Experience managing, and bring small and large software projects to a successful completion. 
    • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience within at least 2 of the following 4 areas - must be able to fully support within resume: 
      • applying software processes
      • applying PM knowledge Areas and Processes as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) within a least 5 of these areas: Integration Management, Score Management, Time Management, Cost Management, Quality Management, HR Management, Communications Management, Risk Management and Procurement Management.
      • using Case tools (such as Requirements Management, Modeling, CM, Automated Testing, Change Management)
      • having involvement in component-based development. 

Additional Information

  • Candidates will need to be eligible to apply for the Enhanced and Secret level clearance with PSPC/Federal Government (which we can initiate/process) and the Controlled Goods Certificate.
