A company in the Oakville, Ontario area has a dire need for a Senior Financial Analyst. Qualified candidates should apply via Robert Half Finance and Accounting. As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will be in charge of the coordination of various planning cycles (quarterly forecasts, annual planning, and monthly outlooks) while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. You will ensure variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. The main responsibilities of this Senior Financial Analyst role will include developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness, driving world class strategic and financial planning methods, and building long-range operating plans to support business initiatives. The Senior Financial Analyst provides the operation of data-driven planning processes and improves upon monthly and quarterly reporting. Your responsibilities:

  • As part of the IFRS implementation team, support the implementation of new IFRS & US GAAP standards which includes performing a key role in the implementation of new accounting standards (i.e. IFRS 17 & IFRS 9).
  • Develop IFRS financial reporting processes under the new standards.
  • Provide timely and accurate accounting advice on new, complex, or high-risk accounting or finance projects/transactions in order to achieve business and financial reporting objectives, including acquisitions and divestitures, impairments, etc.
  • Integrate information and data from multiple sources to enable appropriate data flow, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
  • Develop, update and maintain formal technical accounting policies and prepare reports on relevant accounting policy matters for SLT.
  • Monitor new accounting standards and analyzes impacts to policy standards and financial statements.
  • Financial analysis of results, using appropriate accounting frameworks, and provide subject matter expertise in analyzing and responding to inquiries and solving complex problems.



  • Completion of a University Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA CA) accounting designation

 Professional Experience:

  • 4 plus years’ experience in financial reporting
  • Experience in Financial Services (Insurance) industry will be considered an asset
