Graphic Designer - Independent Contractor

Lifemark's in-house marketing team is looking for a multi-faceted graphic designer. As part of our graphic design team, you will create design solutions for a multitude of print and digital applications. In this role, you will work collaboratively with members of the marketing team and our internal stakeholders from various lines of business. You are adept at branding and develop creative solutions for a number of brands always ensuring that our work is on brand, no matter the application. As part of a busy team, you excel at time management, team and stakeholder communication and producing files that are always to spec and best practices.

 Responsibilities:

• Responsible for creative concept, design and execution (including but not limited to: video, digital, print, and email) to drive audience engagement and brand awareness
• Design original pieces, including logos, emblems, illustrations and infographics
• Enhance images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software
• Maintain brand consistency and alignment throughout marketing assets with the ability to work across a multitude of brands 
• Reflect our focus on diversity and inclusivity through images depicted in creative material
• Integrate best practices and industry trends into creative material
• Work closely with stakeholders, asking questions and offering ideas, to bring their vision to reality 
• Collaborate with members of the marketing team to understand project needs, adhere to timelines and deliver creative solutions to spec

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in creative roles such a Graphic Design
• Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Arts or relevant field
• Proficient in design software (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator)
• Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts and layouts
• Strong attention to visual details
• Project management skillset
• Ability to collaborate with a team and meet deadlines
• Copywriting capability 
• Experience in design/UX for web
• French language considered an asset
