OfficeTeam is seeking a Human Resources Specialist for a contract/temporary remote opportunity. The HR Specialist will ensure the professional management and development of people within the framework of company core values. This includes setting up standard of performance management, recruitment and selection, training and development, employee incentives and rewards, manage payroll, benefits and employees pension plan.


- Develop initiatives, policies and programs to complement existing practices and create consistency across the organization.

- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and provincial requirements.

- Lead the roll out of various HR programs/initiatives (i.e., assessments, culture, colleague engagement etc.).

- Coordinate recruitment, on-board new hires and maintain personnel files.

- Coach and advise employees regarding HR benefits, policies, and procedures.

- Communicate proactively and work with department managers as needed to resolve employee concerns/issues and identify administrative needs that occur on a routine basis.

- Responsible for the entire spectrum of payroll and benefits administration for 75 full time employees

- Collecting supporting documentation required for payroll and/or HRIS processing - Troubleshooting and resolving payroll discrepancies.

- Reconciling payroll distribution and generating payrolling reports.

- Ensure the timely processing of all government regulated forms, such as ROEs, WSIB, EHT and T4's - Verifying the accuracy and completeness of documents.

- Checking that proper approvals are obtained prior to processing payroll.


- 5 years plus experience in Human Resources and Payroll environments - 3 - 5 years experience processing full cycle payroll, experience with ADP workforce now considered an asset.

- Post-secondary education in Business Management and/or Human Resources Management

- Knowledge in the following areas: Employment Standards Act, Human Rights

- Certified Human Resources Professional, (CHRP) asset to have.

- Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills in English.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
