Our company values and recognizes the diversity of the workforce and is looking for a future team member with 7 years of progressive operational/cost accounting or finance experience.  The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and possess a professional designation from the CPA.  The candidate must be a motivated team player with an ability to evaluate results, develop insights to advise the management team, and proactively drive continuous improvement.

In addition:

  • Possess strong analytical, organization and communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Experience in a financial leadership role would be considered an asset

As the Controller at Windsor Salt Ltd’s Evaporation Facility in Windsor, Ontario, this person will be responsible for: • Functioning as a business partner with the Plant Manager to effectively manage and control all facets of the plant’s financial efficiency and productivity • Providing monthly operational financial reporting, financial/variance analysis and manufacturing cost analysis • Preparing and reviewing weekly forecast and communicating any deviations • Conducting inventory costing/cycle and counts/obsolesce testing • Managing BOM on all plant SKU’s • Preparing the annual budget, including liaising with various departmental managers in the development of manpower and controllable spending budgets to encourage accountability and ownership of plant/department performance vs. budget • Capital and expense project approval, monthly reporting, closing projects • Overseeing the payroll and cost accounting functions • Contributing to the team by accomplishing other duties as assigned
