Job Description:

Position Summary:

The QA Tech reports to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible to ensure and maintain the quality of tea.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily pre-operational checks and on-line quality operational checks;

  • Perform sensory evaluation on incoming raw materials, in-process raw materials and finished good materials;
  • Collect retention samples and perform shelf life testing on retention samples;
  • Perform operational document verification and follow up on quality incidents;
  • Perform sampling for chemical analysis and develop specification on incoming raw materials;
  • Perform GMP audit and internal audit;
  • Collect quality data on trial runs and verify BOM on new product SKUs;
  • Asist in food safety (CFIA, 3rd Party, BRC, and Customer) audits and mock recalls
  • Collect samples and assist with completion of tasks in the QA Lab
  • Perform general lab procedures and other designated QA tasks as needed
  • Maintain and update daily QA and plant reports; ensure accuracy and correctness of data
  • Work closely with QA Manager and Plant Manager on special projects
  • Perform routine QA duties as per standard operating procedures
  • Perform environmental micro and sanitation samplings;
  • Perform weigh scale calibration checks;
  • Review HOLD log on a weekly basis and follow up on disposition;
  • Complete corrective action reports and file organize and archive production and quality records;
  • Perform Process Control verifications e.g. Magnet checks etc.
  • Perform other duties assigned or required by QA Manager

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Required to lift up to 50 kg bags of product
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend English.
  • Maintain good attendance per Company's Attendance Policy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard warehouse environment in food industry.
  • Required uniform includes hairnet and/or beard net, Steel-toed footwear, and smock.
  • Good personal hygiene is expected
  • Jewelry is not permitted.
