TS Tech Canada Inc. is an industry leader in the manufacture and assembly of automotive seating. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Assistant Section Manager within our Maintenance Section. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager who reports to the Department Manager of Engineering.
Primary Functions:
Manage equipment preventive maintenance and work order activities
Manage the development of Maintenance Associates
Manage daily equipment uptime
Provide business plan documentation
Duties will include, but are not restricted to, the following:
  • Manage section level activities to support the company business plan such as section budget, spare parts control, tools and manpower
  • Oversee daily operations of the Maintenance staff
  • Oversee the scheduling, completion and tracking of continuous improvement submissions
  • Create and oversee the scheduling of preventive maintenance to meet department business goals
  • Assist in training of current and new technical staff to achieve a high level of efficiency and safety
  • Maintain training records and period reviews for Maintenance staff
  • Verify work order requests and schedule work to be completed in a timely manner to meet section goals
  • Recommend proper use of machines, tools and equipment; appraise technological developments, investigating feasibility of new equipment and techniques; prepare dependable cost estimates for changes in manufacturing methods
  • Recommend, expedite, implement and coordinate approved procedures having to do with utilizing staff services to resolve manufacturing equipment problems and difficulties
  • Participate in plant management meetings to assist in planning and to make recommendations on matters related to manufacturing and maintenance operations
  • Instruct and assist personnel and inspect work to ensure compliance with customer and engineering specifications as to dimensions, tolerances and materials used in company products and to safety requirements
  • Supervise and expedite emergency repairs necessary to minimize costly downtime and to maintain production schedules
  • Provide assistance to the Maintenance Section Manager on major projects such as expansion of facilities, acquisition and installation of capital equipment, major repairs and overhauls, plant layout changes and other related matters to the best economic advantage and schedule
  • Assist Section Manager with reflection of business plan results and creation of the next year’s objectives and budget
Requirements:
  • Minimum College/University diploma/degree in related field
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in an automated assembly and weld environment
  • Previous supervisory/management experience in an automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willing to adjust shift schedule and provide weekday and weekend overtime support as assigned
