Overview
Manage process improvement activities
Responsible for the training requirements for the process improvement projects
This role could see you second in command at the plant, and fill in for the Plant Manager when away
Looking for someone that is extremely passionate about Continuous Improvement.
Approximately 80+ people working at the plant, half in production and half in office.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent training and experience
10 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
Lean and/or Six Sigma experience
Skills
High attention to detail and persistence in resolving issues and discrepancies
Strong project management experience
Strong process improvement techniques
Advanced Lean knowledge and or Six Sigma, theoretical and practical
Training in Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation
Ability to read drawings and equipment schematics
Problem solving and analytical skills
Computer Skills
Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word and Power Point
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Training in CAD
Specific Tasks
Process Improvement
Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing/business requirements including the flow of materials, assemblies, project plans, production capacity, facility design and creation of associated process documentation.
Propose modifications to manufacturing/distribution processes to attain better efficiencies
Carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping,
Develop budgets and cost analysis on all projects and initiatives
Drive value stream mapping to define “As-Is-Analysis” and the transition to future state.
Develop and conduct audits, program evaluations and reviews to drive results with the assistance of the plant manager and supervisors. Participates in cross regional lean update meetings.
Liaises with consultants on behalf of local teams for assistance if required.
Maintain data reporting on projects progress and achievements
Training Requirements
Mentor, train and provide support and guidance to staff regarding the Lean Processes.
Observe individual performance of designated plant employees to identify training improvement requirements.
Work Environment
Manufacturing Environment, exposed to chemicals, noise, dust.
PPE must be worn at all times in all areas of plant.
Must adhere to and follow all Health, Safety and Environmental related company policies.
