Compensation: $50000.00 to $55000.00 yearly

Robert Half Finance and Accounting has a client in the Hamilton area that is hiring for a Payroll Administrator. The Payroll Administrator will contribute to the production of accurate and timely payroll for employees. You should have the ability to communicate effectively and deliver strong internal customer service while working in a deadline-driven environment. - Address voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities

- Be able to co-function with internal business partners, Information Technology, and Human Resources to ensure security protocols for pay systems

- Check out pay practices related to FLSA, other payroll areas, and fringe benefit reporting to determine how those practices apply to advise management

- Ensure timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles

- Create systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data

- Handle quarterly and year-end payroll reports

- Direct regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger

- Scan data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave

- Follow current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting

- Help staff with PTO accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, general questions related to payroll, and other pay related issues
Job Requirements
- Deep understanding of benefits payroll

- Earlier work involving payroll reconciliations

- Good understanding of Union Payroll

- Process Bi-weekly Payroll experience highly preferred

- Background working with Process Payroll

- In-house payroll experience

- Previous experience working with Year-end Payroll

- Knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll

- Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience

- Canadian Payroll experience

- Demonstrated ability in garnishments, various withholdings, and processing liens

- Must have experience working with an HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets

- 3+ years of payroll experience

- PCP in progress or complete
