Project Specialist

Job Description

The Project Specialist is responsible for managing projects and will also help coordinate activities of the project team, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of large projects.
•       Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
•       Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
•       Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
•       Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
•       Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
•       Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
•       Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
•       Negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
•       Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate selections if necessary during project cycle
•       Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
•       Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
•       Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
•       Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
•       Plan and schedule project time lines and milestones using appropriate tools
•       Track project milestones and deliverables
•       Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
•     Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
•     Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements


•     Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods
•     Proficient skills in MS Office (Exchange, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
•     Proven ability to oversee processes to achieve objectives
•     Ability to build strong business relationships with other functional areas to best support mutual objectives
•     Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze work flow/processes in order to provide excellent service to internal and external customers
•     Strong interpersonal, conflict management, and negotiation skills as well as strong human relations skills to supervise and develop assigned employees
•     Effective skills in conducting research into project-related issues and products
•     Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies
•     Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
•     Excellent written and verbal communication skillsEXPERIENCE
•     Minimum of 2-5 years of sales or customer service experienceEDUCATION
•     Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred
