The Toronto Hydro Project requires 2 electrical construction coordinators.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and 3rd Party Audit services for Distribution Construction Projects
  • Chair Pre-Job/Construction Readiness Meetings
  • Participate in pre-construction and post construction/lessons learned meetings
  • On daily basis for projects assigned complete field audit and prepare daily log with pictures  of all activities:
    • review JSA, Sign on to tailboard, verify contractors safety practices are followed,
    • Verify quality of construction i.e. built to standards, and as per issued for construction drawings
    • Evaluate and Process Change Orders initiated by Contractor
    • Witness civil critical tasks and maintain test records
    • Mark up design drawings work completed and any changes
  • Issue Safety Non-Conformance report and monitor contractors’ corrective actions for violations of safety practices, plans and procedures or regulatory requirements
  • Issue Quality Non-Conformance report, maintain log, and monitor contractor’s corrective actions for deficiencies or non-adherence design and standard
  • Verify work units product measure for monthly progress payments and for project close out
  • Ensure quality of submission and appropriate review and authorization has been obtained for change orders (deviation of cost, work scope or schedule) before accepting work in field for payment
  • Record and report to Project Manager and Customer Communication dept. on any public / customer complaints including improper traffic set up and property damage
  • Verification of conformance to Reg22/04
  • Perform final walk down to insure field work complete and ready for intended use
  • Review and verify  Contractors’ Project Close-Out documentation and deliverable


  • Electrical Engineering Technology Certification or Power line Technician (College certificate) Required.
  • Civil construction/electrical utility construction would be an asset
  • Ability to interpret design drawings would be an asset
  • Must have valid class G drivers license or greater
  • Public speak experience would be an asset
  • Proficient with computer
  • Must be able to work outside in extreme weather
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Must be able to work independently and be a good time manager
  • Must be bondable
