Molding Automation Mechanic
Job Description

ESF Careers has been engaged by our client, a leader in the plastics industry, to help them find a Molding Automation Mechanic.  This position is a 12 hour, continental night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.


Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Maintenance Manager; responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various IML robots and auxiliary equipment to improve performances. Identify and correct vacuum issues, adjust inline section, belt space, speed tension belts and service pulleys. Maintain stacking machines safety switches and sealer equipment. Adjust operational sequences for PLC’s and cams;
  • Set up robots and align them with the mold after set up is complete and replace high speed receiver cups;
  • Perform the set-up of various plastic parts handling equipment and perform preventative maintenance on the equipment;
  • Monitor and ensure health and safety, HACCP, and 5S compliance. Proactively identify and suggest ways to eliminate hazards;
  • Permanent 12 hour continental night shift, from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.


Job Requirements

  • College certificate or diploma in Robotics or Automation;
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the injection and plastics industry;
  • Drill press, lathe, milling machine and grinder operating skills;
  • Must have excellent communications skills;
  • Must have experience changing AC or DC a servomotors or gearboxes;
  • Must have experience repairing ABB Robots, troubleshooting and setting up the robots and auxiliary equipment;
  • Must have PLC experience and knowledge.
