Design Group is currently seeking an experienced PARTS TECHNICIAN (JOURNEYPERSON) with to join our Client’s team in the Heavy Construction sector.

The Role:

In this role you will support a large scale, fast paced heavy equipment shop, in addition to supporting the field mechanics team.

  • Ensure orders are filled in a timely manner yet cost efficient manner
  • Research, identify and communicate cost savings.
  • Assist with maintaining parts inventory levels
  • Provide exceptional client service (internal / external)
  • Promote image and safety awareness; follow policies and procedures on quality, health, safety and environment.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Parts ticket required
  • Heavy Equipment / Off road parts experience is required (eg. CAT – SIS, Komatsu, etc)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with different stake holders.
  • Must be comfortable with using MS Office, Email, and computerized parts systems
  • Prior experience working as a Journeyperson Mechanic or mechanical background is considered a strong asset.
  • Capable of working independently, as well as, in a team environment. Adept to efficiently and effectively working unsupervised.
  • Capable of working in a multi-tasking work environment with shifting priorities. This position is also required to work some overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail, be extremely organized and have the ability to reliably document failures and repairs.
